Hey! I'm Leon Angus, Founder of This Website!
Hey there, I am Leon Angus, CEO and founder of blah blah blah…. Just joking, as that’s so not me.
Instead, I’m just a regular guy who started Piston Tribe as a passion project because I’ve always been a true petrolhead at heart!
The Backstory... How did Piston Tribe Happen?
From 2008 to 2013 I spent five entire years studying to become a qualified Motorsport engineer only to leave my qualifications in a cupboard to catch dust afterwards (I mean, well, the spiders didn’t mind)
And while I worked in Ford motorcar for a short time, I certainly wasn’t a mechanic.
Instead, I worked in after-sales (as an aftersales specialist) which was my way of working within the motoring industry without having to get my hands dirty (yup! greasy nails just aren’t my thing).
That being said, I’ve been building motorbikes from as far back as 12 years old (i.e. buying frames and engines then wiring up looms) and have also owned and ridden countless motorbikes over the years (from 50cc all the way up to 1200cc), and let’s not even begin with the cars.
So it’s safe to say that I’ve gained some experience.
In 2014 I decided to pursue the more financially rewarding job of a train driver, and since then, I’ve been… well, driving trains…
But in 2018 I discovered a way of making extra cash with the side hustle of building websites (which surprisingly did pretty well).
So when the idea of creating a motorbike website struck me “it made complete sense” as my skills and experiences were exactly in those areas.
But this couldn’t be a half-hearted approach… as I’ve seen countless motorcycle blogs just regurgitate already available information.
So my approach is to be different, which means buying and testing the products where possible, or speaking to others who have when it’s not possible for me to do so.
That way our readers gain access to genuine unbiased information about maintenance and repairs, tools, techniques and changes to regulations in the industry.
Here's What You Can Expect From Us...
This website is where you’ll find easy-to-read, simple-to-follow information built for bike and car enthusiasts no matter your level of experience. That way you can learn to build, manage and repair your vehicle from someone out on the roads, tracks and trails just like you.
There’s far too much jargon out there so it’s time to give back to the regular folk (I should know… as I’m one of ’em). And who knows, if we grow large enough, I promise to start a community forum where we can talk about all things engines.
Now that you know who I am I’d like to invite you along to read the blog section here.
